Every Learner. Created with Purpose.
We believe every student is uniquely created by God, with strengths to develop, challenges to navigate, and a meaningful purpose to pursue.
Helping Students Grow with Confidence
Since 2016, Heritage Christian Academy's Learning Success Center has partnered with students, families, and teachers to provide meaningful academic support. Rooted in the belief that each child is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), we recognize that every student learns differently and has unique strengths to develop.
The LSC strengthens learning throughout HCA. By providing additional instruction for students who need it, we support classroom teachers in engaging and challenging the whole class while helping individual students build the skills they need to succeed.
Support That Meets Students Where They Are
The Learning Success Center provides targeted academic instruction primarily for elementary students (Kindergarten-5th grade), while also supporting teachers and student learning needs throughout HCA.
Reading & Math Support | K-5
Primarily serving Kindergarten-5th grade, the LSC provides targeted reading and math instruction in welcoming small groups, with some one-on-one support when appropriate. Students strengthen skills, build confidence, and grow toward academic success.
Study & Learning Skills | K-5
Elementary students receive support with assignments, study habits, planning, and organization-building independence and confidence as learners.
Differentiated Learning
HCA teachers differentiate instruction within their classrooms to meet students where they are. Separate LSC independent study for students needing significantly different instructional levels in reading/English or math is limited and considered case by case.
Schoolwide & Secondary Support | Grades K-12
The LSC partners with teachers across all grade levels to support student learning and administer Section 504 accommodation plans. At the secondary level, support focuses primarily on teacher collaboration and accommodation planning.
Thoughtful Plans. Meaningful Progress.
Learning & Accommodation Plans
The LSC partners with families and educators to identify accommodations and learning strategies appropriate to each student and HCA's educational program. Academic modifications are available only in limited circumstances and are considered individually based on student needs and school resources. Section 504 accommodation plans support access to learning without changing academic standards.
Outside Evaluations, IEPs & 504 Plans
We welcome relevant documentation from families and review it carefully. Because HCA's programs and resources differ from those of other schools, outside recommendations are evaluated individually; not every service or accommodation can be provided. Any resulting HCA plan reflects the supports our school can offer.
Pull-Out & Push-In Instruction
Based on student needs and available services, support may be provided in small groups or one-on-one, either in the LSC or in the classroom. Small-group instruction is our primary approach.
Independent Study
For students needing instruction significantly below grade level in reading/English or math, LSC-led independent study may be considered. Availability is limited and depends on individual needs, staffing, and resources.
Making Support Accessible
LSC services are offered for an additional fee. Families are welcome to ask about available LSC scholarship assistance.
Speech & Language Services
Heritage provides on-campus space for Little House Speech and Language Therapy, an independent provider offering evaluations and therapy for preschool and elementary-aged children.
Little House Speech is separate from HCA and the LSC. Families arrange services, scheduling, and fees directly with the provider.
