Welcome to High School

With the growth of our preschool, elementary, and middle school programs, we felt called to offer students the option to remain at HCA for High School. We launched 9th grade in 2022-2023 and have been adding a grade each year, growing into a full high school. We are excited to have our first graduating class for the 2025-2026 school year!

Our current high school is small but mighty, providing students with opportunities to immerse themselves in required academic credits, unique elective options, and hands-on servant leadership. From leading worship at chapel to interactive, in-depth Bible studies to representing our Eagles on the cross-country team, our high schoolers are empowered to seek God's plan and purpose for their lives as they are equipped for opportunities in college, careers, and beyond.

"This is the best decision we have made in the life of our child, and we believe that God called us to be Heritage parents. Take a tour. Talk to the staff. See for yourself."

Faith: Rooted in Christ and Distinctly Christian

"If you are looking for a school that will love and steward your child to pursue their academic best and a relationship with the Lord- this is the place for you!"

Mission Minded
At Heritage, we glorify God together by equipping students to pursue Jesus and His purpose for their lives. This mission drives every aspect of our school, allowing biblical integration across all subject areas and activities. As a school, we ensure that every decision and offering aligns with our mission, and our students learn to use the same lens as they navigate through their formative years and beyond.
Weekly Chapel Services
Our secondary students gather weekly for chapel, which includes student-led worship and a message tailored to them. We also gather as a school family for special chapel weeks: Veterans' Day, Christmas, Easter, as well as our monthly Philippians Awards, where we recap our biblical character trait focus and recognize students and staff who exemplify the month's characteristic. Combined chapels unify us as a school family and provide opportunities for our older students to serve and model for our younger students.
Spiritual Emphasis Week
Heritage has Spiritual Emphasis Week every spring. During the week, our younger students take standardized tests in the morning and attend special chapels in the afternoon. Our high schoolers utilize this special week to go out into the mission field to serve and share Jesus. From local neighborhoods to global opportunities, our students are challenged to serve outside of our own walls.
High School Retreat
Each fall, our high schoolers head out on an overnight retreat. They start the year off with this intentional time to fellowship with each other, receive discipleship from staff, and grow closer to Jesus. From worship to crazy games to quiet time with the Lord, this retreat sets the tone for a school year focused on our Savior!

Fundamentals: Student-Tailored Academics

"I would highly recommend Heritage. HCA is great about supporting students at different levels of learning. Whether it be a student who needs extra challenges to keep them engaged, or a student who needs extra support to help them succeed. The teachers are wonderful. The smaller class sizes allow for a more individualized education. And it is so nice to be able to send your kids to school and know that they are getting a great education in a place where they are loved."

Biblically-Based Curriculum
Christ is reflected in all subject areas, and we teach from a biblical worldview. Students are equipped to become independent, critical thinkers who approach all topics through the lens of Jesus.
Exceeding Washington State Standards
Students have the opportunity not just to meet but to exceed the Washington state graduation requirements. Many of our curricula are based on state standards that exceed Washington's, preparing our students for college entrance exams and college-level coursework.
Dual Enrollment and Live College Classes
We are partnered with Grand Canyon University to offer live, hands-on classes as well as full dual enrollment credit courses.
High Academic Results
While we recognize we are still in the building phases, we are already seeing high academic results from our students. Our students scored an average of ____________ on their PSATS.

We chartered the Philippians Chapter of the National Honor Society in 2025, and _______% of our high schoolers were inducted in the inaugural year. Not only do these students meet a high level of academic excellence, but they also exemplify leadership and service.

We are also thrilled to announce that one of our first seniors has already received a scholarship offer to Northwest University.
Student-Tailored Approach
Heritage recognizes that no student fits in one box. Students are known as we recognize their strengths and areas for growth. Our smaller class sizes allow our teachers to work closely with students to achieve their goals. In addition to class time, after-school student support is offered four days each week at no additional cost.

Heritage is blessed to have the Learning Success Center, which is a unique offering for a private school in Washington. The mission of the LSC is to equip our students to grow and blossom academically, socially, spiritually, and physically into the unique individuals God created each of them to be. The LSC supports the high school department by equipping teachers to meet a diversity of learning styles, offering 504 accommodation plans, and facilitating support or independent studies as resources and schedules allow.

Fellowship & Family

"Heritage is unpretentious- simple and without the flash of some other local schools, yet full of integrity, warmth, and academic excellence. You’re seen and appreciated just as you are, in whatever situation you’re in. What’s special is that it’s not only your kids who are known, but your whole family."

The High School Experience
We recognize how important it is to provide our students with the "high school experience," even as we grow. We are intentional not only in providing but also in elevating that quintessential experience for our students. We held the first annual Senior Sunrise at the beginning of the year, where staff and students honored and prayed over our seniors and their final year at HCA. We hosted an enchanting fall formal where students were treated to beautiful decor, a live DJ, a professional photo booth, fun hors d'oeuvres, and a s'mores station. We will continue to create these special events for our high schoolers.
Servant Leadership
Our students have a passion for sharing Jesus through servant-hearted leadership. From serving as role models for younger students to participating in local or international missions, our students are eager to use their God-given gifts for His Kingdom. We offer TA opportunities where our students can support staff and/or students, including reading buddies, teacher prep, and office support. It is quite common to see our youngest students excited and high fiving when they encounter our high schoolers in the hallways.
Athletics
We offer cross country in the fall and track and field in the spring. As we grow, we hope to expand those offerings. In the meantime, students can pursue partnerships with other private schools or participation in athletics through their respective public high schools. We have had a runner compete at the state cross country meet three years in a row, and three of our students competed in the state track and field meet last spring. We find a place for all students, and we also love how well our students support and cheer each other on.
Student Enrichment
The Heritage experience doesn't end when the bell rings! High schoolers participate in a plethora of extra activities, including Cheer and Stunt, Choir (fine arts credit), Worship team (fine arts credit), National Junior Honor Society, and Tough Guys Martial Arts.
Family Focus
When our current students and families are asked to describe Heritage in one word, "Family" is one of the most common answers. As one mom shared, “Heritage is our family, and so much of our growth as a family is from God’s work at this little school on the hill.”

When you join the Heritage family, it feels exactly as it sounds, you become "family." That means we care about you and your goals and aspirations. We seek fellowship with you and want you to become a familiar face in school activities and programs.  Our role is to assist families, and we take that very seriously.  Our stance is that education is the parents' responsibility, and that we serve as an extension of the family, providing part of that education in partnership with parents. We encourage and desire parents, guardians, grandparents, etc, to be active and involved in the life of the school. We couldn't do what we do without your partnership and support!

Future

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11

Strategic Growth Plan
Our desire has always been to grow with the same quality and consistency that families have come to expect since we opened our school doors in 1979. In collaboration with the School Board, we published a Strategic Growth Plan in 2023, and we continue to refine and meet the goals and directives established. Every step forward is bathed in prayer, and we know that God has amazing plans for Heritage and each of our students.
Campus Expansion
We are excited to be preparing for the addition of a modern two-classroom portable building for the 206-2027 school year.

We will also be beginning a capital campaign feasibility study, and we already have potential plans for a permanent building and campus expansion.
Additional Program, Class, and Extracurricular Offerings
We are committed to listening to the desires of our students and families, and we plan to continue increasing our program, classes, and extracurricular activities as we grow.

"I’ve seen my children thrive not just in the classroom, but in character, confidence, and spiritual maturity. If you’re looking for a place where your child will be known, loved, and equipped to live out God’s purpose, Heritage is a beautiful choice."
