6TH GRADE
All 6th grade students will take our "Eagle Bootcamp" elective during the first semester. Please see the class description below for more information.
7TH/8TH GRADE
We have 4 elective options for first semester. Please have your student read through the options and rank them #1-4. They will then go to the elective form and communicate their 1st-4th choice of electives.
HIGH SCHOOL
We have 2 elective options for first semester. Please have your student read through the options and rank them #1-2. They will then go to the electives form and communicate their choices.
Elective forms must be submitted by this Friday, August 14th for schedule consideration.
While we will do our best to match student preferences, we cannot guarantee elective placement.

middle school ELECTIVEs

Eagle Boot Camp

1st semester 6th Grade Requirement

All sixth graders begin their middle school journey with this required first-semester elective. The course equips students with essential organizational, study, and technology skills, including using their laptops and Microsoft Office applications. Through guest speakers and discussions on Heritage's culture, leadership, service, and character, students will build a strong foundation for success in middle school and beyond.

Creative Music

1st semester offering

Students will explore music through hands-on experience with piano, guitar, songwriting, and music creation. This non-performance-based course will give students opportunities to build basic instrumental skills, experiment with composing and arranging, and develop their own musical ideas. 

No previous musical experience required.

Student Leadership

Offered both semesters
Student Leadership is a course that equips students to serve HCA and Christ through servant leadership. Students will help plan events and assemblies, produce video announcements, lead school activities, and develop leadership, communication, teamwork, and organizational skills as they make a positive impact on campus and grow as Christ-centered leaders. 

Art

1st semester offering

Middle School Art provides students with opportunities to explore their creativity while building foundational artistic skills. Through a variety of drawing, painting, mixed media, and design projects, students will develop technique, artistic expression, and an appreciation for the creative gifts God has given them.


Study Hall & Life Skills

Offered both semesters

Study Hall & Life Skills provides students with dedicated time to complete assignments while developing habits that lead to long-term success. Through guided support, students will strengthen organization, time management, study strategies, goal setting, and other practical life skills that will help them thrive both in and out of the classroom.


HIGH school ELECTIVEs

Leadership & Business

Offered both semesters
Leadership & Business is a hands-on course that equips students to serve HCA and Christ through servant leadership. Students will help plan events and assemblies, lead school activities, and gain practical business experience by managing the student store, including ordering products, tracking inventory, and learning the basics of day-to-day business operations. 

Culinary Life Skills

1st semester offering

High School Culinary equips students with practical cooking skills that prepare them for life beyond high school. Students will learn to plan, budget, and prepare nutritious, cost-effective meals while building confidence in the kitchen. The course emphasizes everyday cooking skills, meal planning, and wise stewardship as students prepare for independent living.
