Experiencing God
Today, we welcomed back chapel favorite and HCA alum Mr. Jimmy Reed. As the area director for Everett/Mill Creek Young Life, Mr. Reed shared a message centered on Jacob’s dream in Genesis 28. He highlighted how God assured Jacob, saying, “I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you” (verse 15). Mr. Reed reminded us that just as God kept His promises to Jacob, He will fulfill His promises to us as well. No matter the challenges we face, God is always present and will see us through.
To illustrate his message, Mr. Reed showed a photo of a ziggurat and explained that its staircase symbolized an attempt to draw closer to God. However, because of Jesus, “we don’t have to build a staircase, climb a mountain, or be a perfect person”—we simply need to trust in Him. We are grateful to Mr. Reed for delivering such a powerful and encouraging message!
